Why traditional weddings can be quite scary for the bride and groom to be – Part 1
A traditional wedding can be scary for multiple reasons. The main question that I can see needs to be answered though is why a traditional wedding is more scary than a non-traditional wedding. Both are scary for many of the same reasons. The realization that you are making a life-long commitment to this person is probably the biggest. The family that may be planned to raise with them is a frightening though as well. Knowing that the person may grow and become a different person than you now know, yet you must still remain commited is a tough pill to swallow.
I think the tradional wedding is more frightening than the non-traditional is mainly bacause of the pressure to please other people. The wedding ceremony should be all about the bride and groom and thier covenant with one another before God. All to commonly though, the ceremony is taken over by a frantic mother or sister and they want to please themselves and everyone else. If the bride and groom put all thier efforts torwards pleasing the guests, they will not have the ceremony they want. The non-traditional wedding has the flexibility to be very stress free, cheap, and commitment oriented. The lovers get to love one another, rather than pull thier hair out making sure they can feed everyone on thier guest list.
