Why choose a spring wedding over other seasons?
The traditional June wedding is falling by the wayside as brides and grooms are choosing less common times of year for their wedding. The beautiful autumn wedding and the classic winter wedding have become popular, but there are many concrete reasons why spring, the season of new life, is the season to choose over the others!
1. The flowers: There can’t be a prettier backdrop for a wedding that the gorgeous flowers of spring – daffodils, tulips, cherry trees, redbuds, pear trees, dogwood trees and countless others lend their sweet pastel hues to the spring green leaves for a romantic natural color scheme for your wedding!
2. The weather: Not too hot, not too cold! Just right as long as it doesn’t rain, but the rain should not be a factor of consideration, because many a summer wedding has been affected by hurricanes and thunderstorms. Winter blizzards and fall noreasters also stir up trouble, so just believe in the tradition that bad weather is good luck if it worries you! How nice it is for the springtime bride and groom in all their finery not to have to worry about sweating like crazy during the ceremony. No runny makeup, no frizzy hair, no sweat stains – spring is the way to go!
3. The lack of insects: In spring, most parts of the country are still relatively free of the summer outdoor wedding enemy #1, the mosquito. Flies, gnats, and other pesky bugs are also still at bay during the spring – earlier rather than later!
4. An abundance of venues: Spring weddings are still less popular than summer weddings so you’ll find booking popular venues, churches, and restaurants much easier during spring. You may even find that the prices are a bit more reasonable. Likewise, the honeymoon will be less expensive if you fly in the low season. You’ll find it easier to book rooms in great hotels in Europe and other romantic places during spring that during the busy summer months.
5. Guests: Most people are available in spring. They haven’t yet made vacation plans and it’s much easier to get most of your guests together during the peaceful spring months. Winter has the holidays, fall has Thanksgiving travel, summer has vacation plans, but spring is open for most!
Spring is the natural choice for starting a new life with your chosen one! It’s symbolism alone lends a romantic air to a wedding, but the pastel colors of nature and the warm gentle breezes make it perfect!
