Chapter 1

The Turning point

The girl stared out of her rain covered window the wind howled softly against the panes causing them to groan and moan in their hinges. She sighed the rain was so beautiful and here she was trapped inside awaiting tomorrow for her forced wedding. She didn’t like being a Baroness especially since her father sought for her the best of everything in her life. The ten ponies and twelve horses she had been given from her father were to make her happy. But on the inside she really never was happy about her life.

A knock rang from the doors she turned to the large oak doors, carvings of a unicorn on either door was beautiful. She heard the knock again and got up and walked over to the doors.

“Who is it?” she asked as she leaned in to hear them.

“I’m sorry,” said Night as she walked out onto her balcony, “but you should leave for being here now would be dangerous.”

“As you wish,” said Jaron.

Night listened as his footsteps faded away and the door clicked shut. Night folded her arms and leaned her chin against them and the railing. The rain had stopped and she could hear the sound of horses’ hooves hitting the cobbled street. A carriage with a lantern on either side bobbed into view. She stared at it curiously as the carriage stopped under her balcony. The young man jumped down off the seat in the front. He shook his head and hat as the water splattered to the ground. He flipped his updo back long enough for Night to see his straw blonde updo and clear blue eyes.

The young man walked around the carriage and
