The perfect day. The perfect wedding.

Shared with the best of friends and family who only wish a perfect future of happiness for the bride and groom.

The road leading to this day of perfect memories includes a myriad of tasks and plans to complete. One of the more important tasks, but one that is often given little thought is the ‘Thank You’ gift to the amazing women who stand up at the altar with the bride.

There are as many innovative and practical gifts to bestow on the much appreciated attendants as there are weddings, but the one enduring top of the list choice is, of course, jewelry. What woman doesn’t love a little extra bling? Even so, the options are dizzying.

The first question a bride needs to ask is, do I want my attendants to wear jewelry with their dresses for the ceremony? If the answer is YES, then the search for the right item(s) – necklace, earrings, and/or bracelet- and in the right color or style can commence. If the answer to that question is NO, or they will wear their own jewelry, then a different search is called for. Both options are addressed below.

YES: When the bride wants the girls to have matching accessories, start first with what type will work best to add to the look of the bridal party. Think about the wedding photos and what the big picture will show you. Take into account the type of dress, what kind of neckline it has, the color, the length of sleeve, and the hairstyles worn for the special day. If a dress has a high neckline or long sleeves, it limits the need for a bracelet or choker- length necklace. All the attendants may not have pierced ears, which could limit earring choices.

What will the bride be wearing for jewelry? It can be a lovely image for all the girls to be decked in complementary baubles. If the bride will be wearing diamonds, perhaps a single Cubic Zirconium on a silver or gold chain will bring the group together.

Or, if the bride wears a strand of pearls, a single pearl on a chain for the rest will work nicely; or a bracelet and earrings in freshwater pearls for the attendants. Any combination of pieces can be played with.

You may also have fun with color; there are crystals, beads, pearls and bangles available in every color imaginable. Again, just be sure it coordinates well with the bride.

Many bridal stores as well as jewelry stores carry sets in silver, gold, faux gold and silver, and cultured or freshwater pearl. In this case, you will most likely buy the same items
