Pick a date for the wedding.

Decide on a realistic budget.

Book a ceremony location and introduce yourself to your Registrar or local minister.

Book a reception venue you like the look of.

Line up entertainment for the reception, such as a DJ, vocalist, musician or a band.

Choose your caterer on an empty stomach (when food never looks better!).

Book a photographer.

Book the videographer for your wedding video DVD.

Book your honeymoon and remember this mantra… “tickets, money, passport”

Choose a wedding cake.

Book a hotel room for the wedding day evening.

Begin your quest for the perfect dress, be it designer, handmade of commercial.

Assign duties to your wedding party and cherish the hugs or stroke bruised egos.

5 Months Left to Go

Have your dress fitted and choose your shoes and accessories.

Select the clothing for the groom, best man, bridesmaids, ushers and relatives.

Notify whom it may concern that you may be changing your last name.

Order invitations and stationary.

We advise you take out wedding insurance just in case.

4 Months Left to Go

Arrange seating order with the caterer and reception location.

Take along a picture of your dress to the hairdressers and choose a hairstyle.

Why not have a makeover while you’re out and about (it is your big day after all).

Book a beautician for the wedding day.

3 Months Left to Go

Acquire your marriage license.

Send out the invitations.

Create a wedding list and make it available to your guests.

Confirm details with all your services booked.

Decide on hymns and music for the ceremony.

Arrange and print out your order of service.

Buy gifts for the best man, ushers and bridesmaids.

Plan your hen and stag parties at this point.

1 Month Left to Go

Arrange for your final dress fitting.

Reconfirm all with your service providers (caterer, florist, photographer, videographer, reception entertainers, ceremony leaders and transport).

Reconfirm honeymoon plans.

Enjoy your hen and stag nights.

Finalise seating plan.

Arrange a rehearsal date.

Reply to guests who have responded.

Write speeches.

7 Days …

Have the rehearsal.

Pack for your honeymoon.

Wear in your wedding shoes.

Give your service details to the minister.

Give the rings to the best man, along with a list of the service providers for troubleshooting on the day.

1 Day …

Rest and relax.

Nails and hair (including men) should be attended to.

Sleep early (if you can).

Let everyone else do as meticulously planned.
