Hawaiian wedding favors
Wednesday, December 8th, 2010Hawai’i, the cool warm breeze. Coconut trees swaying, with the calm tranquil ocean tides rolling in. The feel of sand between your toes, as you sip a chilled Blue Hawai’i on the beach.
Now all you have to so is bottle some sand and your good to go! Although you may wish it was that easy, we’ll cover a few ideas on how you could have great wedding favors. Hawai’ian wedding favors that is.
Here in Hawai’i the supply is endless. However, you don’t need to live in Hawai’i to have great Hawai’ian Favors. We will explore more then just some leis, of course they are a necessity. Ambiance is a big key factor in doing a Hawai’ian wedding so let’s get started!
First of all, your bridal party need a bit of Hawai’i. There are some great websites on line that sell authentic hair pieces made in Hawai’i. These also make awesome gifts for your bridesmaids. They also sell plumeria flowers made of clay that are great for pinned on corsages for the mothers or to put in your ear.
Next, the tables need a touch of Hawai’i. Fabric is a great way to add color and flavor to any room. Even if it just the linen or a table runner. Anthiriums travel well, so for some fresh flowers, these are definitely an option.
Maybe this is were you would like to get some blue colored sand from your local craft store. Make little sand boxes with some shells that you could also get at your local craft store. Maybe you can order some lauhala napkin rings for the linen, even some place mats depending on your budget.
Tiki torches are wonderful outside. What do you do if you are in doors? Candles. Creativity is your friend during your wedding. Use it. Have a group of friends hand-paint sea creatures on little fish bowls and put your candles in sand.
Imagine all the things you could do with fabric, including the sashes for the men. Chair coverings or vase wrapping. You could use as much or as little as you need. Lauhala is another Hawai’ian item that is rarely used, yet as many possibilities.
My favorite part, gifts for your guest. This can vary by your budget. You could do anything from personalizing there place mats and rings to giving them a handcrafted flower made in Hawai’i. A flower lei as they walk in or at there seats. Be unique. There is so much more that you can purchase on line these days.
